In parallel with an increase in demand for Royal Seal paper and cigarette papers, demand for tubs in which pulp could be made multiplied. As a result, the Anoia area went from housing 14 paper mills, in 1728, to nearly 50 in 1800. This development in the paper industry led to the appearance of a number of auxiliary services (carpenters, blacksmiths, locksmiths, etc.). In turn, the presence of these services helped increase the further development of the papermaking industry. In short, these two variables enriched each other. This new mechanism for grinding rags and beating pulp, together with the growing number of tubs used in paper production, represented a great opportunity to consolidate the auxiliary sectors in the paper making industry.
